Highland Lighthouse Cast Iron Doorstop
Eye-appealing 1920’s Highland Lighthouse cast iron Antique Doorstop. Depicts tower with light and two cottages, one with breezeway to tower. The Highland Light is an active lighthouse on the Cape Cod National Seashore in North Truro, Massachusetts. The current tower was erected in 1857, replacing two earlier towers that had been built in 1797 and 1831. It is the oldest and tallest lighthouse on Cape Cod, also the first lighthouse in the nation to have a flashing light. Our favorite lighthouse doorstop. Reference: The Doorstop Book page 245. Embossed on base Highland Light Cape Cod. Ca. 1920s. Excellent condition. 8 1/8” tall x 9 3/8” wide.
