Antique Staddle Stone Mushroom Garden Accent
This Staddle Stone would be a very attractive Garden Structure. It has a separate head and base which gives it a mushroom like appearance. It has developed a good lichen patina that is worth preserving to add to the biodiversity of your garden scene. Staddle stones were original used as supporting bases for granaries, hayricks, game larders, etc. The staddle stones lifted the granaries above the ground thereby protecting the stored grain from vermin and water seepage. Circa 1880-1900. 24” tall x app. 18” diameter. PICK UP ONLY!
