Exceptional wood carving in the form of a Colonial Lawyer. Carved from one piece of wood including base. Depicts gentlemen wearing tails with bow tie with wig. Standing with hands out flat as in a resting position, perhaps on a desk or podium. Great original paint, surface and patina. Ca. 1880. Excellent condition with normal wear consistent with age. 18 ¾” tall x 3 1/8” wide x 5 3/8” deep. Base 6 ½” wide x 4 ½” deep.

Unique pair of decorative wooden Antique Candlesticks. The upright central portions of these candle holders are turned wood, and the base and top platforms of each have bark edges. Their truly unique feature is the sconce shades, each painted with image of a woodpecker on tree branch. The shades clip onto the base of the candles for decorative display.
