Antique Running Horse Curry Comb Equestrian. An incredible piece of Folk Art with superb graphics. Depicting a running horse on the back side of curry comb with turned wooden handle. On the working side of curry comb there are six rows of teeth for shedding loose hair from the horse. At top of comb there is an eyelet for hanging. Made of cast iron, steel and wood. An unique gift for the horseman that has everything or an equestrian collectible and conversation piece. Great decoration item for hanging on a wall. Circa 1880-1900. Excellent condition. Comb - 3” tall x 5 1/8” wide. Overall – 8 5/8” tall x 5 1/8” wide.

Front side shows photos of the bank building, and signed, “Republic Savings, 62nd Place & South Kedzie Ave.”; Back signed, “Save With Republic, Lighting Your Way To Security, We Have The Key To This Bank”. Signed and dated, “Parisian Novelty Co., Chicago, Pat. 3-29-17”, 2-13-26”. Pleasing colors of blue on cream background. Excellent condition with some very minor foxing. Lighter marks from camera flash. 2 ½” diameter x ½” thick.
