Antique Texas Centennial Exposition Cast Iron Doorstop. Most desirable doorstop depicting “Texas” Star with Crescent Moon and a Longhorn. Made for The Texas Centennial Exposition, a world’s fair presented from June 6 to November 19, 1936, at Fair Park, Dallas, Texas. A celebration of the 100th anniversary of Texas’s independence from Mexico in 1936, it also celebrated Texas and Western American culture. Reference: The Doorstop Book page 251. Made by Alamo Iron Works, San Antonio, TX. Ca. 1936. Excellent condition with original paint. 9 ¾” tall x 9 ¾” wide.
